| Description | The amplifier is located at the front of the analyzer housing and receives signal input from the Faraday or Secondary Electron Multiplier detector. The signal voltage is converted to a variable-frequency output, sent via fiber-optic cable to the magnet controller PCB, and then sent to the processor via VGiNet. The Faraday gain resistor in the amplifier is very sensitive and its surface must be perfectly clean, so take care not to touch the resistor when the amplifier cover is removed. |
